The 4-Ingredient Blueberry Dog Treats by Sprinkles & Sea Salt

Total Time 20 minutes

Equipment

  • Cookie cutter (preferably bone-shaped)
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Bowl
  • Spoon
  • Whisk
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Microwave-safe or oven-safe bowl
  • Microwave or oven for melting coconut oil
  • Clean surface for rolling dough
  • Rolling pin
  • oven

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp. coconut oil
  • 1 ¼ cup + 2 tbsp. whole wheat flour
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup halved or dehydrated blueberries

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
  • Scoop 2 tbsp. coconut oil into a microwave-safe bowl. Warm in the microwave in 15 second intervals until it's melted, or pop in the oven for a couple minutes while it's preheating.
  • Add 1 ¼ cup of whole wheat flour to the melted coconut oil. Mix until fully combined.
  • Whisk eggs into the mixture, one at a time.
  • Rinse blueberries and pat dry with a towel. Cut them in half if you're using fresh berries. Fold the berries into the dough.
  • Use your hands to craft the dough into a ball. Roll out the dough on a clean surface. Add the extra 2 tbsp. whole wheat flour to the surface and the rolling pin to prevent the dough from sticking.
  • Once the dough is flat and smooth, cut into shapes using your cookie cutter.
  • Place the treats on a baking sheet that's lined with parchment paper, or thinly coated with oil to prevent sticking.
  • Bake for 15 minutes.
  • After the treats have cooled, it's time to celebrate National Dog Biscuit Day!
